European League Predictions – Week 22

Hello Mathematical7.com readers,

Welcome to a new level of excitement as we are beginning to get a clearer idea of the positions teams are likely to end up in the different leagues.  Though I am sure we will still see some upsets and definitely a few changes here and there. This feels like a week filled with draws.

Have a great weekend of football.

Italian Serie A

Match 1: Inter Milan v Atalanta

Synopsis: Joint leaders Inter Milan face another big test as they host a revitalised Atalanta. Having demolished Milan and Parma 5-0 each in their last two league outings, Atalanta will be confident ahead of the trip but Inter are a different kettle of fish.  In Romelu Lukaku and Lautauro Martinez, Inter boast of 30 goals already this season therefore I do not see this ending in a scoreless draw like last season.

Verdict:  3-1 (Inter Milan to win)

Match 2: AS Roma v Juventus

Synopsis: Roma will want to avoid a second defeat in a row when Juventus come to town. Juve hammered Cagliari 4-0 last time out with ageless Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick. This is a tricky game for Juventus, the Old Lady haven’t won on their last 4 visit to Roma. Top tip for this game is, both teams to score

Verdict: (score draw)

English Premier League

Match 1: Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Synopsis: 9th placed Crystal Palace are one place and one point ahead of Arsenal in 10th ahead of the clubs’ clash. A win for either team this weekend could launch them to within touching distance of fifth position.  Palace has not been a high scoring club this season and with Arsenal trying to adapt to life under Mikel Arteta, this might be a cagey affair. Both teams to get on the scoresheet

Verdict: (score draw)

Match 2: Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool

Synopsis: Tottenham face Liverpool with Harry Kane but Son Heung-min should deputize. Can Mourinho conjure some of his old magic to put an end to Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the Premier League?  All the stats favor the Reds, Mourinho has won only 2 of 10 meetings against Klopp and Liverpool have lost only one of their last 14 PL matches against Spurs. On current form, the Reds look unstoppable,

Verdict:  2-1 (Liverpool to win)
